As a vet, your copy of a DD214 saves you a lot time, you can skip the classroom training. Go to this website https://licensing.freshfromflorida.c...equest790.aspx and download the application and do what the website instructs.

You'll need fingerprints, I got mine at the Lady Lake Police Station. They usually have someone on duty that can handle that. They charged $5 and they transmitted them to Tallahassee but you'll also need your hard copy from the police.

You'll need a passport type photo, which will actually be used on the license. I went to the CVS on 441 across from Walmart. They charged $10, I think some Walgreens can do that also.

Take the fingerprints, the photo, the DD214 copy and the application along with a check for about $117 and mail it to Tallahassee, it's all on the application. The license is good for 7 years.

My brother who lives over by Daytona Beach, went to a facility in Jacksonville and they did everything on site in a hour or so. You will have to make an appointment, I'm not sure of the name but search online and you should see something like that and they probably have an Orlando location, or you can do like I did all in one day locally and then sit back and wait 6 - 8 weeks.
