I've had Century Link internet and telephone since July 2011. When I initially signed up, I went to the brick and mortar store on 441 next to Jim's Golf Shop and Jersey Mikes, I believe it's still there. They gave me a rate of $59.99 a month with 10 mphs speed and telephone with free long distance, caller ID and call block, which is very handy. When I asked for the internet only, they said $40 and at the time 10 mpbs the top speed, so I took the package deal with telephone and the price has never changed and I have always paid that amount plus tax.

We now know they have up to 40 mphs speed, but the 10 is OK with me, I have no problem with speed on Netflix or Youtube on my smart TV, so I don't want to fix it if it's not broke. However, I have never had a modem, I plug my computer or router directly into the wall jack. It's a different jack than the telephone, they are side-by-side on the wall. My village is 5 years old and sits just north of 466A, so it's fairly new. Did you go into an older village or a newer villager?

The other item is I had the same problem with the first bill. They had said my first bill would be $200 and it was like $350. I called their customer service number and spoke to someone in Orlando. I told them what I was told in person at their Lady Lake office. They switched me to someone in Charlotte, NC called 'the save desk'. Within a minute the guy slashed my bill to $100 and asked if I was happy. I got his name and told him I was very happy.
