I remember last summer (and the summer before) with our dog Nickoles (labradoodle - 1/2 lab & 1/2 standard poodle) he ate the nice new buds of our peony bush. I poured hot sauce sparingly on the buds thinking he would not like the smell or taste - helped somewhat - guess he was hungry and the sauce was tasty. Our dog still goes after socks, underwear, shoes, towels, gloves, hats, not too much he doesn't like. At least he hasn't touched the buds so far this spring. We knew labs did not mature till they were around the age of 2, but in his case I think it may be 3 or 4 yrs. of age. Gotta love them - he has the nicest personality, beautiful eyes (they are green) and is a lovely chocolate colour. He is so friendly and loves every person and other dog he meets. He was quite a change from having two previous dachhunds - both females. So I can certainly relate!!!! Sadie has a playmate as well to help occupy her time doesn't she?? By the way Nick is just two years old so only another year or two to go. Hope hubby and I survive - just kidding!!!!!
He went to the kennel this morning (we leave tomorrow morning to head to the TV) and I miss him already.... Too far a drive coming from Canada to bring him.
