Sam,
I have started to believe that this is a truly serious issue. When I saw your post just now, I looked back through the forum to find a conversation that I had with Mintjulep on this very topic. Poor Mint. Her husband has actually told her that he would leave her for Paula.
I found where Mint and I talk about this nightmare. If you want to see what was said, it is in Non-V Discussion under Boomer's Picture which ended on April 20. We agonized together. Maybe it will help to take a peek at the thread if you did not see it at the time. The conversation is in there, with some other stuff.
I think we all need to band together. I suggested there that maybe there could be a club started in TV for women who are trying so bravely to cope with this very real and widespread fear.
I wonder if Paula Deen knows what a threat she has become. I think we better hope she does not. She would love it. I can just see her draping her sultry, southern self across that kitchen counter, all surrounded with butter and cheese, and singing something like, "I'm a scamp, vamp, and a bit of a tramp." You know, like Cher used to sing from the piano top. or was it "camp, scamp...?" Oh, I don't know. But just picture it. We would not have a chance.
EVEN WORSE! What if she decided to roll around on that kitchen counter and sing that one about, "I can bring home the bacon. Fry it up in the pan..." That woman brings home some serious bacon.
Oh, Sam. We need a plan.
