I guess recession proof means income that does not go away during a recession. Social Security check, pension check, investment income, (however it may decline, but probably doesn't go away unless managed very badly) and the like. What it seems your talking about is inflation proof which it is not. Recession proof yes, significantly more than the rest of the country. Not inflation proof.
