Hypothetically I could donate about 6 gallons of platelets per year but that is assuming very good health, no bad needle sticks, little travelling, and meeting all the various criteria that you need to meet to donate blood.

Any kind of surgery knocks you out of donating until you heal. A pulled tooth, for instance, knocked me out of donating blood for eight weeks or so until it was completely better.
