We just got back from renting for a month. We found the weather to be pretty much the same as Charlotte, NC this year. The big difference between the two? In Charlotte, activities were cancelled, so we did end up spending time indoors doing nothing. In the Villages we spent the afternoons in indoor activities (badminton, movies, dance classes) or the pool. Beginning water volleyball was a huge hit. Some days we would golf a bit, and then the rain would come in and cool everything down.

So yes, it's hot and humid. But the thunderstorms can make the evenings lovely, and you probably still do more than at home. Try it out. I bet you find its fine.
