At the time the "founding fathers" wrote "all men are created equal", there was slavery, in the census a slave did not count as a whole person, women could not vote, only properly owners could vote.

The equality was for white male property owners only.

God given rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness? How were slaves given liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
