As for the illegal immigrants - create a pathway for legal residence for them. No, not citizenship. Let them work, pay taxes, their children born in the USA are constitutionally citizens, if criminality happens - deport the criminal after doing the sentence in USA.
This decriminalizes illegals and lets them work and pay paxes.

If anyone wants to know what happens when a large population of illegals are deported, read a book called "Postville,A Clash Of Cultures". It tells of a very large Kosher meat packing plant in a small Iowa town that was staffed by Mexican line workers. One day an immigration raid was held, the Mexicans were deported, and the Jewish management jailed, the packing plant closed, and the little town dries up and shrivels. No more economy for the townspeople.
