I have only push mowers for my lawns. That is my home and two rental homes. I do still get a sprinkler leak once in a while. Usually because sand gets down between the head and the sleeve and wears a grove in them. But I only get about 10% of the leaks and broken heads I got when I used riding mowers for the lawns.

So push mowing does have a significant benefit for lawn sprinklers. And just to clarify, they are really self propelled mowers, not push. But are the small walk behind 24 inch cut type.
