Since English is the language of America and Americans, companies should be smart enough to know to program their systems to press one for spanish. But then that would not be pandering enough to those of color who have no intention of becoming Americans or learning our language. I have never been prompted to "press 1 for English". The software sometimes says - in Spanish - to press 9 for Spanish.
Of course, I have to ask, what calls do you receive that ask for pressing 1 for English? If it is an incoming call and you do not recognize the Calller ID, why answer it?
