Both conventions remind me of the mandatory pep rallys that used to be held in high school.

All the great things the team was going to do!!

All the bluster about how they were going to win this contest.

All the cheering and rah-rah-rah.

Even though the team had not won a game since last season and not likely to win this one.

Same for political conventions....canned...scripted.....rah-rah....BS!!
