Actually, I did come up with it. So far, I haven't heard it used anywhere else. It's more than a "thow-a-way line" and there is some logic to it.
It was the coastal Africans that when inland, captured peaceful villagers and sold them into slavery.
This had the effect of decimating village populations and robbing them of their progeny.
By returning hardworking, educated African Americans to their rightful place in their native homeland,
they could use their reparation to assist the native population rise to same level of wealth, peace and prosperity as the African Americans who settled Liberia.
The Africans that captured and sold other Africans are just as much on the hook for reparations as anyone else.
