One more thought: We'd been asked--and told--to conserve water because of the drought, and whether it was the asking or the telling or a combination of the two, we succeeded in reducing water consumption considerably. So what happened? The water companies lost revenue and as a result are asking for a rate increase! Does it not sound outrageous?! And if we really do some serious gasoline conservation, could this too be a factor? Hmmm....
