A rewrite of Jackson Browne's Lawyers in Love.
"Lawyers In Love"
I can't keep up with what's been going brown
Now that my love is wearing another's wedding gown
Among the Villagers in their hospital scrubs
She may soon be cleaning some of their urine tubs
While ignoring the strangled cries of lawyers in love
God sends his thanks to America, the beautiful
The Villagers dine at six o'clock and there we are, the dutiful waiters and waitresses
Pitying us lawyers in love while longing for Happier Days
Waiting for the Blooming Onion to arrive
To the mating calls of lawyers in love
Last night I watched the news from TOTV and on channel 640 AM
The mental patients escaped while we weren't watching them, like mental patients will
Now we've got all these empty rooms, we will need more brooms
And I hear the 65th Village will be open soon
As vacation land for lawyers in love
Now as I cry for a flower that has gone brown
And how she is wearing another man's wedding gown
When all is said and done among the Villagers in the hospital scrubs
she will be again among the urine tubs
But trying again to make yet another doctor or lawyer fall in love.
