Socialism is a system of economy. To call the military a true economy is ridiculous.

Voluntary enlistment and you can leave it behind you when you wish. Unlike socialism/communism in various countries of the world where you are born a slave and you will die a slave unless you are lucky enough to find a way out.

In a socialist collective each person is the same. In their utopia there is no hierarchy. Is there any better example of an upwardly mobile career ladder than the US military? Exceptionalism is the norm in the US military. In socialism, as Obama envisions it of course, no one should be more remarkable than another.
