Its cheaper to make anything a American consumer ( be it a home builder or direct customer ) might buy offshore and service it two or three times under warranty, if you are a reputable manufacturer, then to make it in the United States and make it close to a life time purchase. Once it has been serviced two or three times the warranty runs out, unless you buy one of the ridiculously expensive extended warranties, you will replace it anyway starting the cycle all over again.

If you are less then a reputable manufacturer, well too bad.
