Default Medicare Part B vs Advantage Plans

Each year, Medicare (CMS) updates their regulations. Currently, the new regulations are available on line for comments until September 6, 2016! If you have a problem with local doctors planning to accept only Advantage Plans, you really need to make your voice heard. One easy way is to go to the website link:

Regulations.gov

You will find a search block where you can input the proposed regulations for next year (over 300 pages). Type in: CMS-1654-P

You will then be brought to a page where you can comment on next year's proposed regulations! I would suggest a short comment, such as "All medical offices that accept Advantage Plans should be required to also accept Medicare Part B."

Perhaps with some last minute input from all of us, we can fix this potential problem of local doctors in The Villages Health System only accepting Advantage Plans beginning January, 2017!
