There are actually at least two restaurants serving Nothern Italian fare if you are willing to drive a bit:

Donatello in Tampa - Tampa's Donatello Italian Cuisine Restaurant | Fine Italian Restaurant | Fine Dining | Zagat Rated Italian Food

Francesca's Trattoria in Gainesville - Francesca's Trattoria. Italian Dining: Eat > Share > Amore

Both are a bit higher priced than the local competition but we make the drive occasionally for the cuisine.
