The fairways are brown and dry. The Bermuda rough is non existant. The greens That I have played on after aerification are in really good shape.

This my first season of "summer golf" in TV. I am surprised at the attitudes of many of the golfers here. For the price we pay, I believe the courses here are in very good condition. Golfers in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and Nevada would love to have the rates and course conditions we have right now. Brits ans other Europeans think Americans are spoiled because of the conditions of our courses.

The American golfer has come to expect their courses to resemble Augusta National in appearance. Watch this years British Open, and you will see what I mean by course conditions in Europe. More and more American greens keepers are coming to the conclusion that their course will become more dry and and less plush in the foreseeable future. The greening of the golf course is the most volatile subject today at all of the golf course industry seminars.
