One Italian town was Montecatini. We used that as a base for taking the train to Florence, Lucca, and Pisa. Read my Tripadvisor report on The Royal Palace hotel entitled Bright Orange Rooms. Sounds strange but bring mosquito repellant to Italy.

Anyhow, use common sense about sightseeing, get a little adventure spirit, enjoy some great gelato, and have a wonderful trip! We enjoyed ours - despite Legendary Journeys!

We lived in Italy for over 4 years and traveled on Celebrity many times to include Transatlantics.
