Chels, I do not know how I survived for over 6 decades without knowing 9/10th of what you posted.

Proves I am also challenged.

I use whole cloves as a deterrant for ants. I think they do not like the scent and leave immediately.

Somewhere in my collection of how to clean things I have one on using Coke - not diet Coke.
