Packer Fan: This viking fan believes the Warranty Dept is the place to start not only from the possible leverage angle but also a collective meaning that other homeowners have reported this defect to the Warranty Dept. My earlier post was obviously to alert you to the bureaucratic round-around that seems prevalent with too many companies today .
What you describe is an obvious defect in the shingle. It would leave one to ask if the entire roof has to be re-shingled
I would suggest that you place everything in writing to the Warranty Dept preserving date of discovery of the defective shingles, when and to whom it was reported, responses from the warranty dept, roofing mfg, etc.
It took me two years to resolve my issue with this roofing company which had a mfg plant in Chaska. MN and lied and told me they had no presence in the state of MN. I too went to the warranty dept representing this development and they tossed me to the roofing company
Good luck
