I have 2 salt water pools, one in my house in Los Angeles and the other in my house in Palm Springs, CA.

We converted the Los Angeles pool to salt water about 2 years ago and have never regretted it and when we purchased Palm Springs and it was already salt water, a major positive to purchase the house.

The cost to convert really wasn't very high, although my husband was in charge of that project, but I think it was a few thousand dollars.

I love swimming in salt water much better than chlorine, its been very good for my sinuses and it feels much better on your skin. Also, I find it nice to swim in salt water as the water feels lighter and cleaner than with chlorine.

Yes, there is less maintenance however I still have pool service in both houses but there is a lot less algae to contend with. I'd give salt water pools a
