Electoral votes do not come without votes. You cannot win a state's electoral votes without the popular vote, regardless of what some think. The popular vote elects the electors of each state. The state electors elect the president. Electors are pledged to cast their votes in accordance with the popular vote. It has happened 4 times where a President lost the popular vote but won the electoral vote. First was John Quincy Adams and the last was George W. Bush. If you knew history, you would know the facts.
