I have done this in the past, but recently the last 2 I looked at could not be disassembled for sharpening. You can typically find new blades for less than $20 at the big box stores and ACE hardware. There is a lot of work associated with sharpening these, and I would get an estimate first, as I am guessing new will be cheaper. I am assuming you are talking about an electric trimmer. If you have manual hand trimmers, these are much easier to sharpen, I have done these for other villagers.
