Using "retarded " or "libtard" as an insult and is cruel , hurtful and insensitive to the people who may have a son, daughter, brother, sister, friend or other loved one who was born with a neurological handicap. When I was teaching middle schoolers, I would call them out for calling someone a "retard". It is just wrong.
