What really made a difference from the previous night, was being able to score that 4th go ahead run and Maddon could bring in his closer, who never threw a pitch under 100mph.
After tying the score, then came the bunt, the pitcher made a perfect throw to get the lead runner at 2nd, but that relay to first killed the Giants. The Cubs still got their man on second base in scoring position. That made all the difference in world not having to go to extra innings with the Giants getting more at bats.
