SLAVERY-we TODAY, find it horrible. At it''s time it was a normal part of life. To learn a trade, your parents would essentially make you a SLAVE, an apprentice for seven years. They did not treat apprentices very well. They lived typical in an unheated barn. OF COURSE THERE WAS NO AC. In fact glass windows were expensive. The food
was about the same as what the pigs got.

Then there was the indentured servant. Many Irish people came to America as indentured servants. It was the same as slavery but it was for 14 years

Simply put, the America you teacher told you about, NEVER EXISTED.
