The "economy" is being held up via over $1 trillion a year in new debt. We owe $20 trillion, if you personally owed several $millions in unsecured debt (credit cards), would you consider yourself doing well? You'd be one step from bankruptcy...that's where America is. It's got $trillions in "credit card", nonperforming debt.
