As with most other states, the law in Florida is to drive in the right lane (on a 2-lane or more road), unless you are passing.
Can someone please tell me what it is with so many drivers here that insist on driving the left (passing) lane?
Other than it is against the law, that is so wrong for so many reasons.
I grant you that in a highly commercial area, such as on 441 say, it is difficult to do because of all the turning into a shopping area.
But in other areas if you flash your lights or honk your horn, these people in the left lane actually get annoyed!
Perhaps if the police started giving tickets to those who think they own the road, they will drive the right (and correct!) lane.

From bbbbbb responding.
Having been here a year, we almost never drive the car, it is golf cart or bicycle. Well, a golf cart community? The problems that are mentioned here are quite common, they will probably continue to be a nuisance, and if you look around, you may find what is probably the root cause of traffic frustrations and near accidents and the items mentioned here. It is solvable but we will probably not solve it with the common operating standards that we love so dearly.
Enough of that.
