Actually, they looked through it before crushing it for quite some time. About three to five minutes and I believe that they took some of the stuff and put it in the front to take home. Probably the little bank which they will not be able to open without a code. My Dad thought that the Salvation Army could fix it. He did call them ahead of time and told them what was in the box.

This was stealing. They just did not find much they wanted to keep from the Salvation Army box.
