I know I would have a problem with that.
To Tal - It's obvious to me that the recycling men realized at some point that the bag wasn't for them (even if it was an innocent mistake at first)...and they should have apologized.
That they didn't, is the reason you should at least report it to their supervisors.
Anyway, by sharing you have at least given warning to the rest of us that we need to ensure that our charity donations can't, in any way, be confused with the trash.
