You are 100% correct. I can't tell you how many times I have observed or confronted the same brand of stupidity at that very intersection. My suggestion for your future safety is that when someone approaches that rotary from Belle Meade on your right, assume that they are one of the imbeciles who hasn't a clue about how to traverse that intersection even though the signage is perfectly explicit and simply assume that they will do it wrong. Placing a Sheriff Deputy at that location would yield a significant amount of revenue for Marion County.
