Why? Protestant Irish called Catholic Irish a name, the same name they use for blacks. It didn't MAKE them suddenly become black with black traits...did it? You probably can't tell the difference between N and S Ireland today. But there is a HUGE difference between Haiti and the Dominican Republic on Hispanola. You can see the Haiti side from a satellite.
