Yellow Jackets are very common in Florida. If you swat at one, it is prone to attack you. If you are around them, just walk away. If you discover one of their nests around your house you can spray it with a special insecticide can designed to shoot wasp nests from over 15 feet away. Spray thoroughly and then walk away because some of them will be swarming around.
