Just looking at the posts on this site alone, shows that if any of the people who have let their racism/bigotry/xenophobia/misogyny show ever had hiring/firing authority, that the laws and regulations to keep them from applying those putrid, discriminatory, prejudiced and hateful views...are very necessary.

Au contraire you make my point because the playing field is not level many of the protected classes who should be fired are ignored because corporations are concerned about their reputations knowing that even with "just cause" protected classes will sue based on discrimination. I know what I am talking about because I spent many years in management both Human Resources and operational.
