Obama did about the same thing but not as quickly. He did try to change things but was challenged by the Republicans at just about every step.
I don't think they view him as a maverick at all.

Most executives and investors recognize when a business or entity is not being run properly/profitably/fiscally responsibly.

They, including wall street anticipate the expected efforts of a change agent. They know the results will be better than under previous regimes.

Just take a look at the energy and construction industry anticipation of the changes to come under Trump.

Even when Trump finds he will not be able to do everything he said because of the way things works in Washington....he will not be nor is he even close to being one of the good old boys.

That is a notion some take comfort in hoping Trump will not affect their "establishment".
