Start a thread on some of the issues facing the country..
"President-Elect Donald Trump took 141 distinct stances on 23 major issues during his bid for the White House.
His campaign's constantly-evolving views -- often championed as a way for Trump to use unpredictability to cut better deals for the nation -- make it difficult glean a political agenda, or even a set of clear, core policy views ahead of his presidency."

Stop with the race talk...
Ask opinions on wher the new administration migh go with Medicare since it is important to many here...since it seems to be evolving.
It is time to put aside the election results...it is time to govern.
If you truely want to discuss reality, so be it.
I have demonized Trump, admittedly but only in reaction to those who want to canonize him. I much prefer what we might expect in cabinet apps, potential policies, etc.
PS..as you see from the post preceding this. Some will never grow up or find it challenging to discuss issues.
One start for me, as a Western Pa guy, I followed all the discussions in the coal mining industry. How do folks feel ? Will it be brought back to life ?
Will Pelosi withstand competition and remain in charge if the house a Dems ?
Will Giuliani end up anywhere in the new administration ?
Has anyone seen the details on the replacement for Obamacare ?

You have mentioned medicare. My wife and I just got on to medicare.
Due to my previous income-read that as having worked way more than 40 hours a week and saving for only 45 years. I was self employed so unlike most people who pay 7% to social security, I PAID 13%.
Actually as to the 7% few people realize that your employer pays in the same amount as you do-THAT IS TAX FREE INCOME TO YOU. Due to my previous income which forced me to pay the maximum into social security I now pay the top rate for medicare and have no inflation protection.
The money for medicare comes from what you paid as social security. BUSH added prescription coverage to the already underfunded plan and Obama added OBAMACARE on top of that WITH NO FUNDING-read that as tax to pay for it. The REPUBLICANS object to people being forced to pay for a national health coverage. In my mind, we have all been forced to pay into social security. SADLY PEOPLE MUST BE FORCED TO BE RESPONSIBLE-IE AUTO INSURANCE. We are not prepared to deny medical care to anyone whether they have paid for insurance or not.
FURTHER-it has been implied that China is our largest creditor the fact is we owe slightly more to Japan then to China. More important and /or shocking, together Japan and China hold 20% of our national debt. SOCIAL SECURITY HOLDS 42% OF OUR NATIONAL DEBT. So that TEN TRILLION DOLLARS that Obama added to the national debt was 42% YOUR SOCIAL SECURITY MONEY. Where but in our insane system does the borrower control the rate of interest that UNCLE SAM, COUSIN OBAMA WILL PAY ON THE AMOUNT YOU WERE FORCED TO LEND HIM?
