Maybe, just maybe he is smarter than you think. Tweeting is used by a lot of people comfortable with the internet. Tweets are from a known source. It is much more reliable than others opinion on TV, and MSN and all of the other inflammatory talking heads.. because it is from the proverbial horses mouth....and not the other end of the horse, like so much from the main stream media.
