Like everything else that is nothing more than ritualistic in Washington, the daily security briefings in a mostly normal world are nothing but MOS (more of the same).
Like it or not, like him or not, the security briefings being a daily ritual and not much value adding during the course of normal daily lives....a take action, aggressive, no nonsense, executive style will pick and choose where to spend their time. Are they need? In some form, no doubt. Daily? Most of the time no. Or a memo or a text or however they top brass in Washington communicate the usual day to day stuff.
It might be an interesting exercise to find out how many people and how many hours and how much money spent to prepare, package and present the daily security briefing.
I would bet it is a stagering number......hence, self perpetuating, establishment, business as usual.
Real executives do not put up with for very long non value adding activities/persons.

Again, you buy into whatever you are told......
"The president-elect has attended only a handful of intelligence briefings in the past month, and says it's no big deal — but Donald Trump and future White House Chief Strategist Steven Bannon's far-right-wing media arm once criticized President Obama for the same.
Trump opined on Twitter (stated as "Fact") in September 2014 that Obama "does not read his intelligence briefings..." and mocked the president as "Too busy I guess!"

Fact--Obama does not read his intelligence briefings nor does he get briefed in person by the CIA or DOD. Too busy I guess!

Not only was Trump's claim without merit, it was based on a dubious report from the conservative Government Accountability Institute — which was co-founded by Bannon.
Trump Once (Wrongly) Criticized Obama for Not Attending Intel Briefings - NBC News
Trump also jumped on OBAMA for this in 2012
"Priorities--while fundraising and campaigning on our dime, Obama has skipped over 50% of his intel briefings"
These are actual tweets direct from Trump.
Of course...and these are his own words

"WASHINGTON – Donald Trump says he’s smarter than your average president — so he doesn’t need daily intelligence briefings.
“I get it when I need it,” Trump told “Fox News Sunday,” explaining that he refuses the opportunity to be briefed daily by security professionals on classified threats the way President Obama is.
“I’m, like, a smart person. I don’t have to be told the same thing in the same words every single day for the next eight years – could be eight years. … I don’t need that.”

When compared to REALITY, do you people know how bad you look or maybe you just do not care
