Will be interesting on the infrastructure spending promised by Trump during the campaign and its affect on the national debt and our GDP growth.

Our economic growth last I read probably will be at about 1.8 for 2016. We keep saying we want up to 4 %. Other nations like Japan and China show much higher growth percentages. There are those who think 4% is not ever going to happen. They refer to China etal as new born economies and that our economy is "mature" thus we should not expect the same growth as those countries Infrastructure spending, done correctly, is great for the economy p...jobs, etc.

There is the matter, however of the national debt which, if all Trump promised is done, will absolutely go through the roof.

Discussion of the tax policies, where the revenues come from, how the defense spending is done (remember Trump wants big increases) etc will make

I hope that all posters take a break from the extreme, radical websites when looking for news on this discussion and try CSPAN and other media because even the basics can get confusing.

This is not aimed specifically at you, honestly, but in thinking about this! Those websites do not have the USA interests in their heart. Much too important for discussion from a non extreme point of view.

The past is prologue to the future. government moves at a snail's pace. The divide between the parties has never been wider. Periodically you will see an enemy of my enemy is ............ but that is also short lived.

it has been apparent for a very long time that the Department of Energy crated by Carter for a short term energy emergency was overkill and the Department should have been abolished today there isn't anything they do that can't be transferred to another department.

The IRS antics tells us they have too much time on their hands and that Department should be drastically reduced. the Department of Education should be targeted for elimination. I could go on but those in congress who rely on favors from these departments in order to garner votes won't move against them. and the bureaucrats who have administrative control will fight to protect their fiefdoms .

As to readings there are such a partisan narratives being generated by both parties that I dismiss most of them out of hand
for interesting listening and reading.

Personal Best Regards:
