The questioning of the electoral college came only after Hillary Clinton lost. She was so confident that she would win the Electoral College that she didn't campaign in Wisconsin and hence lost in Wisconsin
The shock of Hillary's loss sent progressive into a tailspin
Podesta utilizing Pelosi's daughter and nine others electors lobbied the Electoral College under the pretense of Hamilton Electors demanding electors change their vote because Hillary Clinton won the popular vote. When that didn't work they played the Russian card, Progressives intimated ,made death threats against these electors and otherwise made their lives a living hell. Hamilton designed the Electoral College to protect the country from such political intimidation
Progressives attempted a voter recount that failed. They attempted to challenge the Electoral College that failed. All of this upheaval by progressives is really for one reason only and that is to undermine Donald Trump's democratic legitimacy.
As a sidebar imagine what it would be like if we did not have the Electoral College. As we learned from this election the coastal cities would dominate and middle America totally ignored
Imagine what it would be like if under just a popular vote the election was contested. Can you spell hanging chads times 50.
I am more convinced than ever that the founders were absolutely correct in devising the Electoral College
