All of us are aware that the US dropped atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki but far fewer AMERICANS are aware that both Germany and Japan were working to make the atomic bomb. Or that both Germany and japan had huge germ warfare programs. Japan used germ warfare against China and they experimented with POWS.

The Japanese DIPLOMATS were talking PEACE at the time their navy and air forces were on the way to attack pearl harbor. Japan did not declare war on the United States. Roosevelt declared war on the Japanese AFTER THE ATTACK ON PEARL HARBOR.

We all know that Japanese in the United States were interred. It is in my view prejudicial that they did not do the same to Germans and Italians. Had they done so, we would have had most of our population in jail. If, there was a justification, there was a Japanese tailor who reported to the Japanese government on the comings and goings of our ships in pearl harbor.

My dad was in the Philippines in WWII he was one of 18 soldiers in his battalion to survive WWII. He never spoke about it. I think all will agree that we treated POWs far better than particularly the Japanese but also the Germans.
