If those in power really wanted to be compassionate they should provide both active and sensible mental health programs. This group of people are the most ignored and misunderstood and ridiculed.

I read two separate accounts from two different psychiatrist who specialized in trans gender issues. In both cases they cautioned against sex change operations stating that in most cases the patient regretted their decisions . why? because the issue was a confused mental state and that is where the treatment needed to be. Is a person who is confused by his/her sex any different than a person who is confused as to whether he is Napoleon of God ? Shouldn't the objective be to walk them through and out of this confusion?

I am not upset with mental health patient I am upset with people in our society who acquiesce to such stupidty in the legitimate and needed treatment these people require.
