I have a very hard time with the people in the group that received a large monetary reward for looking out for us. It should have been distributed, not given to individuals.

Sometimes you have no choice but to be combative. The original plan of the POA, on the siding issue, was to work with the VHA. They laughed at the POA and told them they "didn't see a problem". Right now, the POA has asked the VHA for cooperation with serious issues with the Regional Hospital. The VHA has stated that they again, "don't see a problem". No matter what your politics or affiliations, you should never be ignored or treated like the wicked stepdaughter.
