I come from PA, Reading area, and also use I95 after I83 and the loop around Baltimore. I try to always pass thru the Washington/Springfield gridlock 9pm or later. During the day I try to go thru between 11am - 2pm. I just returned on Saturday and had no problems other than some snow south of Richmond. I also take I295 south at Jacksonville and then 17/19 and thru the Ocala Nat'l Forest then a couple of back roads and it brings me into Griffin Ave right at Spanish Springs.
Next trip in summer I will try I95/I77/I81 which is about 50 miles longer for me but more senic.
