If you are in favor of an Illegal Immigrant Federal Force to round up ALL illegal immigrants, branding them on their forehead with a huge "I", and deportation- just say so.

You are putting yourself - once again - into the same mold as the resident racist, Don Baldwin. Congratulations!
To answer your first question, we have limited resources to enforce federal law so a list of priorities must be developed. I personally would not put marijuana at the same priority level as illegal immigration. Additionally, I think that we're probably going to see a softening of federal marijuana laws at some point so I can't see dealing with this right away.

In answer to your second question, I don't think that there are too many people that want that, including the president.

Illegal immigration is a complex problem because there are many different reasons that people are here illegally. Again, we must prioritize. Some people have been here for a long time and have simply forgotten to renew their 10 year visa. Those people need to be contacted and reminded that they need to renew. At that point they should be given the option of renewing or returning to their homeland. Depending on how late they are, a small fine might be appropriate.

A second group are those who were brought here by their parents at a very young age and are illegal through no fault of their own. Each of these cases needs to be reviewed on it's own merits. If the person has been a productive, contributing member of our society for a long time then we might offer them a chance to become legal and maybe even offer a pathway to citizenship. If however they do not have a job and/or have been involved in other crimes, then they should be punished and then deported. But as I said, each case has to be judged on it's own merits.

A third group may be people that came here illegally with no intent to do malice and are still here. These people also need to be looked at individually. Some of them have been contributing members of our society and they certainly deserve to be treated differently from those who are collecting welfare or committing crimes.

Then there are people who came here to work at low wage jobs such as picking fruit etc. We need to create a day visa program for these people so that they can go back and forth without a problem. These visas must be easy to obtain and inexpensive. Perhaps the employers should be made responsible for them and be made to pay for the visas since they are the ones benefitting from them. Or perhaps we could use federal prisoners to work in the fields to offset the cost of their incarceration and not have a day visa program.

Then there are criminals. The illegal drug trade from Mexico is huge. Anyone caught in this country selling or distributing drugs from Mexico needs to be imprisoned. Not only are the selling and distribution of illegal drugs crimes in their own right, but there are all kinds of other crimes that are caused by it. Any illegals caught stealing, robbing, or committing and other crime that can be shown to be connected to drugs must be treated the same as the drug dealers.

I would also seek permission from the Mexican government to send troops into Mexico to deal eradicate the drug lords. These organizations are as heavily armed as some small armies and the only way that they are going to be stopped is to send a powerful military after them. Police forces and border patrols cannot deal with them. We know who they are and where they are. Our military could easily destroy them. They pose a threat to this country and taking them out would be an act of self defense.

Anyone caught or committing planning acts of terror must be detained and imprisoned. I would send them to Guantanamo. Perhaps the drug dealers can go there as well. Personally, I would give them both the death penalty. They are either killing US citizens or planning to. Any illegal immigrant caught committing any other crime should be imprisoned and eventually deported.

No one is in favor of just rounding up all illegal immigrants and deporting them. This is a big problem and will take a very complex solution.

In the meantime, we need to stop the flow of illegals entering through our southern border and have the SJC properly define the 14th amendment so that we no longer have birthright citizenship. That alone would slow the rate of illegals coming here substantially. Yes, we need to build a wall and then find and seal all of the tunnels. Again, this is not a job for border security alone. We need tens of thousands of people down there doing this.

And by the way, this has nothing NOTHING to do with race. If white Canadians were doing the same thing, I would suggest the same actions.
