I have said it before and will repeat it until proven otherwise....

Russia and Iran have been friends, BUT they have slightly different goals in mind in Syria (although it seems both involve killing innocent people)

Russia would like to get us to the table for peace talks...along with Turkey, the other player in Syria. Iran is against that.

Russia will be playing this game...they need to insure that they can protect their interests in European expansion.

A safe zone we hear about could be very dangerous. All these countries milling about.....just please do not allow our people to being to die there also.

Russia is one scary...very scary entity in this picture and it is a bit disconcerting to have our President insulting every world leader but the one who leads the killing in Europe, and in fact to have him giving them kudos.
