Wasn't right then. Isn't right now. A free press is part of the American fabric. It's essential to a democracy. Abolition of the free press is one of the first steps to totalitarianism. I'm certainly not worried about Trump becoming a despot, because he isn't smart enough, but some of the people around him (Steve Bannon, Stephen Miller, Kellyanne Conway, Betsy Devos, Steve Pence, Steve Mnuchin) are.
At some point responsible Republicans (and there are many) must stand up and denounce Trumpism for what it is. They lie constantly, issue "alternative facts." and discriminate against organizations that we know are legitimate sources of news. McConnell, Ryan, Grassley and your ilk, grow a set of................courage.
